'Murder in Istanbul' performed by Lithuanian project team

'Murder in Istanbul' was presented in Skuodas on May 31st. It was an extremely interesting experience for all project participants.

 

While working we encountered some problems. Whereas only one student participated in the international play in Spain for others it was a real challenge .

Another problem was a small stage, but we could not change anything thus we decided to try to fit in a small space.

  

We learned the dance a bit earlier as we presented the project on May 9th during the events of Europe Day organized in Skuodas. 

 

So step by step we had all the work done: actors were ready, invitations were sent, spectators were invited...and the day X came.

  

Despite the last two days before the play were quite stressful, the amazing atmosphere in the hall quickly dispelled the fears of young artists. 

Everybody felt happy after the play. Besides having fun and unforgettable experience, students learned to work creatively in the team, what is one of the most important things in the modern world. It was a bit sad at the same time because the performance marked the end of the project.

Murder in Istanbul performed in Croatia

Murder in Istanbul was performed in Croatia on June 1st, 2018.

In spite of many technical difficulties, students and mentors enjoyed working on the play throughout the rehearsals, the performance itself and in editing the video.

The main drawback was the lack of space. Hvar is celebrating 150 years of organized tourism and it is difficult to find available place for the performance. Therefore we decided to use our gym and it turned out great!
During the rehearsals students decided to add another dance they had learned in Turkey. It is such

a wonderful feeling when a mentor realizes that students want to put more effort into the performance than necessary.

On May 30th, the Spanish team recorded our international play, Murder in Istanbul.


There was  something fantastically rewarding about staging this school show with our students.
Putting this  play was  a brilliant way to boost the profile of drama and music of our students. They got to build their confidence at stage, and they learnt that taking part in live performances is great fun.
We all enjoyed and had fun, it didn't finish on the day of the recording, we learnt even more when editing the film. It was a great opportunity to learn.
